In 2023, a new bridge opened at Maasband in Limburg. This bridge is placed over a side channel of the Maas River and serves as an access to the village of Maasband at times of high water. The name of the bridge is a reference to Hoxweerd, a forest area that used to be located at this spot. For this project, Van der Zalm was responsible for the production of the railing work and Guard Rail, as well as their on-site installation. In 2024, the bridge and constructed water channel were featured in the media due to the high water level of the River Maas.
