A historic drawbridge in the centre of Blokzijl needed to be replaced. We produced two new lock gates and upgraded the drawbridge and the movement mechanism to current standards.
Challenging factors in this project were the regulations governing historic buildings and the compact construction site in the centre of Blokzijl. The result more than met expectations, partly because we managed to preserve the historic character of the bridge.
