Construction of the quay wall at Amalia Harbour

For this Princess Amalia Harbour project, Van der Zalm was commissioned to reinforce the tubular piles of the combi wall. To this end, we manufactured prefabricated shell sections, which our assembly team welded into the tubular piles on site using thick, heavy-duty welds. We brought a shovel loader to the site, along with trailers to move our equipment across the sandy and muddy ground.

We also took on the engineering and assembly of various steel auxiliary structures, such as bolt pots for the harbour crane structure, bell-shaped structures for anchoring into the inner wall, installed rainwater drainage pipes, and finally arranged various transport deliveries to Amalia Harbour.

Hours on site: 22,600 hours
Travel hours: 5,610 hours
Factory production: 6,820 hours
Total project duration: approximately 2 years
