For Stadsstrand Hoorn – the largest lakeside city beach in the Netherlands – we created several information pillars made from weather-resistant material (Corten steel). We also provided the graphic design for the swimming water sign and created decorative strips with stainless steel letters, which were incorporated into the road surface.
We made the strips from 4 mm thick Corten steel with a thin 1 mm layer on top in which recesses for the letters were cut. Because the (brushed) stainless steel letters are 1 mm thicker than the cut-outs in the top layer, they rise 1 mm above the Corten steel. This creates a elegant and contrasting effect.
